About the Blogger
I am a B.Tech (IT) from Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore. I passed out in 2005 and since then have been working in the software industry. I am a Network QA Test Engineer currently working at Brocade Communications in Bangalore, India. Prior to this, I had worked at Alcatel-Lucent India Ltd at Bangalore and Wipro Technologies at Hyderabad and Chennai. At Wipro I have worked for clients like Juniper Networks, IP Infusion (An access company) and Fujitsu. At Brocade, I am working with the Automation group and am involved in automating various testcases for the Feature Verification.
Though I have never been an avid blogger, I always had a blog since long time. My favorite hobby and pastime is web designing and I have been doing it since 2000.
About the Blog
Network Layers and Protocols aims to document everything that I have learnt over the years (and am going to learn in the future) in the networking domain. Ever since I have started my career, I have fell in love with protocols. This is just the opposite of the situation I was in at Vellore. I just hated Networking as a subject there and I couldnt even have thought that I would make my career in this domain.
There’ve been time in the past 5 years that I learnt something new and worked on it. And then moved on to something else for the next 3-4 months. After this when I came back to the previous topic even though I remembered almost everything I learnt, I would still miss a small intricate detail here and there. I guess since I never “noted down” the things I learnt such a situation occured. To avoid such a problem in future I am gonna use this blog and write about just everything I have learnt. And in the process I hope others will also find a place for reference purposes and of course learn something new.
